Lush 'Dorothy' Bubble Bar

''Somewhere over the Rainbow . . . . Baths are Blue . . . ''

During the good ol UK Boxing Day sales, my brothers girlfriend who is a Lush fan (a bit like one of my lil twitter friends 'Lucy Writes'), popped into Lush, and grabbed herself a few bits in the sale. During her browse she came across the 'Dorothy' bubble bar, so picked up 2; 1 for herself and she kindly got one for me. When I received it, my first thoughts were ''Awww how cute''; it smelt pretty strong (as do all lush products) but I couldn't wait to use it.

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Cocamide DEA, Ylang Ylang Oil, Orange Flower Absolute, Gardenia Extract, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Colour 42090, Colour 14700, Colour 15510

Unfortunately I do not have a snap of my bath at the time, but I can tell you if you're looking for a bubble bar that will instantly help you sleep at night, this is the one!!! I entered my bath full of energy, bright as a button, and after 40mins, I got out desperately wanting to go to bed! The bubble bar produced lots of bubbles (thanks to the sodium laureth sulfate and sodium bicarbonate), and it smelt very nice. But the one ingredient which I feel was the culprit for the sudden need for sleep - Ylang Ylang Oil! Now I know absolutely nothing about the in-depths of oils, but I do know ylang ylang is a good oil to help induce sleep, gaining a better nights kip. (Result if you struggling to sleep at night!). Crumbling the bubble bar under running hot water only took a few moments to disslove which I was very impressed by, leaving my bath a subtle bluey colour. The 'Dorothy' bubble bar that I received, I couldn't help but think was a little old? but, it still smelt incredible, leaving my skin soft, smooth and well moisturised.

The 'Dorothy' bubble bar is RRP £2.99/100g, which isn't too badly priced (if you like to cut and use 1/2 or 1/4 per bath). I personally like to use the whole thing! (Yep, I like to drown in bubbles lol).

What do you think? Will you be purchasing 'Dorothy' and following her along the yellow brick road? Or are you going to be Toto and do a 'runner' avoiding this bubble bar at all costs?

*Although this product was purchased and given to me, I am not affiliated to Lush or am I being paid. My review is as always 110% honest, genuine and true.

I've just finished my last one, so don't have any at the minute :( Really need to get to Lincoln (my nearest store) and pick some up eeek. May have to give this one a try, although, should I be worried about falling asleep int he bath with this product?? I'm already a culprit of doing that haha :P

  7. Dorothy is one of my favourite bubble baths! If you like the fragrance try Fig and Leaves soap, it's sometimes available from the Retro line online (I don't think they have any at the moment) - it's the same fragrance! Oh and don't worry about it being 'old' nothing is allowed on the shelves if it's older than about 6 weeks x
