Friday Feature: Carly's Beauty World

Today I am kicking off a brand series on my blog which if you haven't already guessed goes by the name 'Friday Feature'. Every Friday I will feature a blogger who will guest post about absolutely anything they wish (so long as it's blog related; beauty, fashion, lifestyle). By doing this I thought is a great way to discover new blogs and enable readers to discover something which may be of interest. Kicking off the first Friday Feature is the lovely Carly from 'Carly's Beauty World', and today she will be discussing 'Mini Manicures'.

Anyone can achieve long, strong nails if they're prepared to put in a little effort in

I keep my nails in tip top condition by using the following routine once a week:

1) Remove all traces of nail polish using nail polish remover on cotton wool pads

The first thing I do is remove all traces of nail polish. I often give myself a French manicure (as shown in the picture below), which means I'll be wearing four coats of polish altogether, including the base and top coat.

2) Clip the ends of my nails

Next I use toe nail clippers to clip the ends of my nails. I usually have my nails slightly square, so this helps me to create the shape. Most of my work is done once I've clipped my nails and all I need to do is round off the edges.

3) File my nails

After I've clipped the ends of my nails I file them using a professional emery board.

4) Push back the cuticles

I apply cuticle oil to each cuticle and nail bed, rubbing it in as I go in a circular motion, then I gently push back my cuticles using a circular motion. This frees the cuticle away from the nail plate, and this is what allows the nails to grow much faster. This technique really works, and is key for anyone that wants to grow their nails longer or stronger.

5) Wipe my nails using nail polish remover on cotton wool pads

The main part of my mini manicure is complete at this stage, so I give my nails another wipe using cotton pads. I don't need to worry that I'm wiping off the cuticle oil because that will have already been absorbed into the nail beds, and will continue to nourish my nails for many hours after.

6) Apply two coats of OPI’s Nail Envy Nail Strengthener or one coat as a base, followed by nail polish and then another coat as a top coat.

For me, Nail Envy is a magical product! It's so versatile that I don't need anything else. For years and years I have used this to make my nails very strong, and as you can see in my pictures of my nails, it really works! Nail Envy can be used on it's own as a nail strengthener, or underneath nail polish as a base coat, or as a top coat.

Please don't hesitate to connect with me as I love to chat! I look forward to engaging with some of you on my social media networks very soon!
